OW , myself i have experienced clutch failure first hand on several occasions First one was in my 61 ford when a Schrieffer dual disc rev loc came unglued at around 7 grand . Took out the scatter shield cut the steering column in half removed the master cyl. off the fire wall but nice BIG holes thru the hood put big dents in the floor pans from pieces and parts bouncing off the road . A week after my clutch let go a young guy tryen to empress the young ladys at the beach had his clutch let go but he was driving a Corvett and he lost both legs below the knees Saw the end results of when a old style T/A clutch explodes and makes big holes in the center section of a Farmall .
