They had a big presence in the "big" city here- the Cayuga county seat- Auburn NY, where Osborne is one of many prominent old names. Wasn't that name on a reaper, or binder? I just read a little local history book of Auburn stories. Back in the day there were lots of terrible fires. One was the IH twine plant. Some years ago I resurrected a couple of sections of a derelict spring tooth harrow for garden use. A dear old (WWII vet, now departed) friend saw it and remarked, "I used to assemble them at the factory" ! He recognized it immediately! There was no sign of ID on it, and not a speck of paint!
