I completely understand. I have a 16 y/o stepson, who is a spolied brat. His mom would buyhim crap all of the time before we got together. Now his tastes are expensive and we can't afford all of that crap. He is a PITA also but at times he can be a good kid.
His dad and him don't get along at all and he wants to be with us all of the time. We spend some time together and for the most part it is ok.
I also have a 6 y/o girl with my wife and that is good. I firmly believe that kids are just given too much and they need to earn things.
It will get better, because when they get older they will realize what they have become is a result of their parents. I remember looking back and not wanting to hang with dad. Now I call him daily and we talk a lot.
