5000 to 6000 tops. The V-8 Perkins main issue was hydraulic oil or diesel fuel puddling in the engine valley and igniting causing a major fire. Some of the rear ends had major problems in the early days. If it has a metal fuel tank (painted red) or has the amber indicator lights on the dash, I'd run away as fast as you can. There are some that are very desirable, but you need to know where to look to see if the service bulletins were completed.
