Dude..... Look at Rockauto.com.... 30-100 bucks for O2 sensors. Take care of that car and it'll be a long time before you have to replace it (unless it just rusts away or you wreck it... Get you a book and do the routine stuff yourself within reason and your abilities. Biggest mistake folks make is "OMG, I gotta foreign car, better take it direct to the dealer" and the dealers get fat off ya....
It's a volkswagen (peoples car), not a mercedes or lamborgini...
Try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes to reset things and see how it runs. What motor does it have? Did your gas mileage drop recently?
