JDseller said: (quoted from post at 19:36:38 08/10/12) The only thing wrong with those German built IH utility tractors was that they are hard starting. You have to glow plug them year round. If it sets more than a few minutes even in the summer you will have to glow plug it a little before it will start. They are easy on fuel and the controls are a little different.
It would be a buy at that price IF it is in running order. The parts can be kind of pricey for the German engines through CIH.
Little bit off here Bro.... These are direct injection, so no glowplugs... There is a preheater in the air tube for real cold weather and you pull the "stop" knob halfway for starting when the motor is cold. Other than that, they start right up (assuming all is in order). Mine starts as quick as my car...
Can't answer for parts prices on that side, but pretty reasonable here and can get pretty much everything. I can help if needed...
Now, the indirect injection models, like my little tractor that I had before, is an every start glowplug baby in other than perfect conditions.
Paul Simmer, if you decide to get it, and it wasn't just ragged out, I think you'll be real happy with it. If parts are expensive there, I have an American address and can mail stuff at domestic rates..
Good luck.
Just found the ad.... That's less than half what that tractor (model) would go for here and it "looks" to be in real good shape. Only difference to what we have is flat top rear fenders, ROPS and usually some type of cab (usually canvas with flip up glass windshield), turnsignals, and it would have paperwork, be inspected semiannually, and be licensed.
A loader of that style would cost more (2+) than that whole price here.
Just those tires would pushin that price here  ...
Prolly worth a good hard look....

Today's Featured Article - What Oil Should I Use? - by Francis Robinson. I keep seein this question pop up over and over again in discussion groups all over the web. As with many things there are often several right answers and a few wrong ones. Some purist I'm sure will disagree to no end with what I will tell you but most of us out here in the real world don't really care do we ? Some of them only bring their noses down out of the air long enough to look down them anyway. If you are like me you are only doing this old tractor stuff because you enjoy it. You
