Yup pretty nice area, Calgary folks are real friendly especially for city folk but like all cities you need to be careful.Sooner be in Calgary than Edmonton though.
The whole area is really nice too bad she doesn,t know someone who could take her around to places, (maybe the horse people could) .The Eastern slopes of the Rockies have nice tourists places, Canmore, Baniff,Lake Louise, West Edmonton Mall are all places to go and things to see.
South there in Wateron National Park, over Drumhiller way are the dino fossles and Badlands.
Hard to tell you where it is best but up through where your saying has alot of nice places.
All in all in is a pretty safe area but still a woman traveling alone and the cities has to be careful, but she would be as safe here as anywhere.
I live 3 hours south of the city of Calgary, but we are like a suburb here as they come here to camp in the summer and Ski in the winter, so we have alot of them around, lol.
My wife is into horses and i complain about the money she spends on the i feel kinda lucky now after reading that your wife in flying in from Germany, haha. We may know the people she is coming to see, horse world is a small world.
Anyway as it gets closer to when she is coming and if you have anymore questions feeel free to ask. A guy by the name of Drill is on here as well and knows the area better than me maybe he,ll pop up.
