You'll know when you're choice to update comes. The fan goes into the radiator. I learned the hard way on my 35 A that you do not grab a fan blade to turn the engine over just a tweek to adjust the points. The rubber broke loose from the hub. I thought I was OK till that terrible sound came from the radiator area as the fan was chewing a circle into it. You might get by with it with a spring/friction fan hub but the results aren't good with a rubber hub. Jim
