Needing barley straw, buddy was gonna leave some laying for me to bail but it's about 3 miles from the house. Happened to be at a pasture today with a barley field next to it and I guy was combining. Asked him and he said that there stuff (straw) was already earmarked to be sold but this place was a little out of his way. Anyway, talking about a price and he rattled off the size (3500 m2 or .9 acres) said that's between 1.3 and 1.8 ton..... Is there a chart somewhere, or he just knows his own fields/crops? Just curious in case I miss him next year and have to look at someone else. Don't think I did too bad on the price... 35 bucks and just have to drive the baler thru and it's a half mile from the house.
