Annual rain fall in W SC was about 44 inches. One dry year recently it was in the 30s, don't remember exactly.
Some parts of the mountains over the line in W NC got about 60. Mountains generally get more rain fall than lower areas, like the Sierra Nevada in CA.
Jim, you must be in Eastern TX to get that much rainfall. I've driven across TX and a lot of it looked powerful dry. Don't remember much in the way of trees East of Dallas until close to LA.
