Too bad about the Poulan. Have bought a couple Poulans (big and small) and run the heck out of them with no problems. I don't use ethanol gas in them or any small/older engine. A friend that works with me has an electric pole saw and we used it to trim a couple of lower limbs that we couldn't reach with the saws and didn't want to mess with the loader or ladder. Worked OK, but kind of a pain hauling the generator around. The nice portable Honda was a little to small and had to use the B&S powered middle size one which is pretty heavy for one person to load in the truck. I liked the pole saw enough to buy a gas powered one. My 1000 watt Honda is too small for a saw, but the 2000 watt or 3000 watt units are still pretty portable and would work well. I would go with the larger one to be sure it had enough capacity.
