Hey guys, just thought you might want to see how things look out west. Unbelievably dry here this year, but at least we have irrigation water. Grass alfalfa mix, keeping it wet, and looks good. This is a sample of our pasture. We have not had cows on it since June of 2011, so this shows all of this years growth. Now, guess where the irrigation water ran? Have 2 sections of CRP opened up for emergency grazing that we have cows on. Not much for feed value, but with some supplements, the cows/calves look great. Cut some hay this morning. Oats look decent, will start cutting them for hay this weekend.
