Well, it grew on it's own, it's harvestable from spring to fall, and tastes very good. A cross in tast between Broccoli, and peas. I cut several budded floweretts, out in the adjacent hay field, and we treated them just like broccoli. Very tender and tasty. We will feeeze some also and see what happens. Looking forward now to trying some of the pods when they start developing. For more info. just google "cooking milkweed". Lots of info. We have a early 1800's roadhouse/ now seasonal Adirondack eatery,in the aream that specializes in such local and seasonal delights. Been a while since I had Milkweed there, but they served it only in the spring as an asparagus type dish. This was better yet! I'm liking it when I can harvest a weed rather than pulling it. LOL
