One of my best friends - my hunting partner, works at a local small engine shop. I bought a little ford LGT last fall and the 7 hp Briggs in it needed some help so he helped me rebuild it - new piston, rod, ground the valves, etc. He said it has been years since he has rebuilt an engine. If one comes in needing overhaul, if they can't just drop a new replacement engine into it the whole machine gets scrapped. Kinda sad. He gets his parts for dealer price so I have $97 in an engine that should last me for a long time. Plus I will have to buy the beer when we go hunting this fall.
