On the job yesterday, I had occasion to drive US36 from Marysville, KS west to Belleville, then south to Concordia.
About 15 or 20 miles west of Marysville, I was meeting two semis with oversize loads and they hindered my view, plus I had to watch my driving, but to the left on the south side of the highway I swore I glimpsed a whole yard full of yellow Minneapolis Moline tractors. Maybe a couple dozen, at least. Does anyone know anything about these?
Then, just east of Washington, KS, also on the south side of the road, was a nicely restored John Deere R with a grain binder behind, sitting in a field of wheat stubble. An interesting view that brought back memories. Only my time with a grain binder was with a Fordson.
It was a pleasant and interesting drive, good smooth road, open country, etc. It was the kind of drive that makes the windshield time on my job fun.
