I'm helping my neighbor with his 2640. A year ago his pressure plate broke. It is a "fingers" style pressure plate and it broke near one of the three fingers. It lasted a year and it broke at the same place. Has anyone run into this before. We used all JD parts, but we found out today, that even though we bought the parts from the dealer, JD doesn't make the parts, they are aftermarket. To me it looks like a problem with the metal of the pressure plate. We don't want to do this again. The dealership didn't have any idea why. The tractor gets a good amount of use, mostly haying. Any help would be much appreciated.
