I usually never add oil to a slow freon leak. The R-134 is a very small molecule chemical. Oil has a much larger molecule. So most times the freon leaks but the oil does not.
This molecule difference is the reason they used to tell us that a R-12 system would not work with R-134 in it. They claimed the R-134 freon would leak out the R-12 rubber lines. Later we where told the old lines had become plugged with the oil so the R-134 did not leak out . So I am not sure what it the "real" answer. Either way I would not worry about adding oil unless you see it leaked some where.
