I used them when I planted some new trees in the yard. I used full five gallon buckets. I drilled 1/8 holes in them. I still had some burlap bags. I made covers for the buckets with that. I just used a loop of wire to hold them on. You then could just walk up with a full bucket and dump it into the one at the tree. That was what worked well for me. I have use them since then in the garden on different plants.
