Hi Dave, I looked through the "America Revealed" website, and watched the "Food Machine" documentary. I've seen many such docs, and I like seeing them. It has been quite an undertaking to feed the mushrooming population, and is going to get more and more complicated with time.
Personally, I like the idea of small farms. Growing what I can in retirement, and giving it away to those less fortunate. But that doesn't feed them all year...
There needs to be an industrial approach to farming to feed the growing population, but I suppose the growing population only happens when food becomes more readily available through improved technology.
I suppose being on the cutting edge of production, keeps us from being on the front lines of starvation. I suppose that's the end goal, avoid starvation and have our genes carry on. That's why we work hard, and innovate...
