The reason that people were/are "hard" on teachers lately is because when asked to chip in and pay for insurance like everybody else they went ape $hi#. As far as now good teachers can be let go, a couple of years ago the state "Teachor of the Year" was let go in Milwaukee because she had the least seniority. The law fixed that so now teachers can be kept and paid extra for doing a good job. I went and got a degree to be a teacher, after my student teaching experience I figured out that I couldn"t work with half of "em so I changed professions.
