At that price I think I'd be color blind and look at anything that meets your requirements. Stay with one of the major manufacturers (Case/IH/Ford, New Holland, or Agco- MF, AC and Oliver) Yes I left John Deere out- good tractors but at that price a John Deere is probably in pretty scary condition. Look more at condition-you want a tractor not a money pit. If you find a candidate research the model here, ask about the tractor here and search the postings on the board. Be aware the more popular tractors will have more posts because there are more out there and more folks using them. Example you don't see much about SAME tractors here, it's not because they're good it's because there are only about 6 left running in the US.
