Hard to do a real test that way. Take it to an auto part house and have them check it. Cost to you is your time and gas to take it there. They have equipment that will tell them the amp draw etc. which you can not do that way your trying. Now woth out being there and seeing what you did my guess is you did it wrong or it is bad but hard to tell by cyber space
