I had one that I ran without a humidifier. several years ago I got one with the attached humidifier. I think it works a lot better. I has a heater for the water, water just gets warm, not hot, and has different settings for heat. I use distilled water in it. before I got the cpap I had a lot of trouble with heartburn, now I don't. I do not know if the cpap has anything to do with the heartburn going away but I think it does. I went camping with the Boy Scouts one time, had no power. worst two nights I ever had. woke up both nights gasping for breath. the cpap made a real different in how I sleep.
