Take the tank off and turn it up side down. The tank is more than likely Polyethelene. It is heat weldable. Using a 30 to 35 watt pencil style soldering iron and a dimmer switch for incandescent bulbs for heat. and polyethelene strips for welding rod, (cheap frisbies work, milk jugs are too thin. Polyethelene drinking tumbler is also good.)
clean the soldering iron with steel wool to remove all solder. Use the dimmer to control the heat. it needs to just melt the poly. Practice making a full penetration weld and filling it as you go. the tip can actually go through into the tank. Billd weld as you go. It takes a little time to get the hang of it, but it is no harder than welding saheetmetal, and well worth trying. Jim
