Don't know about this particular group, but do know the church buys farm ground and owns several in this area. Believe the original intent was to space them so members traveling by horse would have a place to camp each evening. Obviously not an issue today, but still has been a good investment. At least locally they try to choose good, established but smaller farmers that could use more land to remain viable. My tenant has been a major beneficiary. He likes them but they can be a little too cost conscience about making longer term improvements. Major issue is that land will never again be available for ownership by local farmers.
