Big wheels ride much smoother than little wheels on rough hay fields. Not a problem though if you have smooth fields. I am now finding myself using tractors that use a little more fuel to rake with (John Deere A and Farmall H both with 38" tires) instead of my fuel miser with littler wheels (Kubota L285 which has 24" tires) simply for the smoother ride. My aching body appreciates the smoother ride.
What don't you like about your Farmall H? It should ride smooth and use very little fuel unless it has a Super kit in it. Still it should use quite a bit less fuel than the Allis WD45 anyway and much more comfortable than the Allis too.
