Yes, you know me, Tony!!After all there is only one Stephentown....right?
Both houses were plank construction, where the 1 inch planks are the frame of the house. One was all nice and weathered and I was planning on using the planks to remodel a room in my current house, Old Country Buffet style. No adobe or stucco, except one 8 foot section of base that covered the opening at the bottom of the little house. These houses were built back when they would stack a bunch of bricks up and lay down some wood beams and build from there.. so everything but the front porch and sidewalks will scoop up in a heartbeat. No footers whatsoever. Can you imagine building like that up there?
I have a loader, just don't want to bust the new tires on nails.... but back to the concrete..I have a bunch of 6-10 inch thick concrete slabs from sidewalks and front porches I would really like to break up and use as a base for a driveway. Same with the old bricks. I can move them easily as you said, but what do you do with twenty or thirty pieces of old concrete???? Not only do I have this house, I have another porch from a former house, and a big slab over in my campground area that was a house a long time ago. I was waiting until I had the houses gone to rent a mini escavator and maybe a jackhammer to bust things up into small pieces. Now the houses are gone I am thinking of what to do with it besides hauling it off and paying to dispose of it.

My Papaw raised "baccer" (tobacco) and corn with the Super A, but the fondest memory was of the sawmill. He owned a small sawmill for sawing "baccer" sticks. The Super A was the powerplant.
