I think someone is feeding you a line bro..... If your virus protection didn't give you warnings, you wouldn't get scared and pay for an update..
If you are really worried and open for suggestions, do a sweep and get rid of any infections you may have. Open a Yahoo email account and use onely it. Don't open FW and/or no subject emails or any that yahoo warns you about. Don't click on links anyone sends you unless you completely trust the people (and not even from them if it's forwarded or in a no subject mail), and enjoy life.
Don't click on links that say things like joke, funny, if you love Jesus, etc and don't fool with chain emails...
Then enjoy life..... It's easy to get wrapped up in all the doomsday stuff folks throw at you....
