My nephew works for The State Ports Authority in Charleston South Carolina. He started there as a diesel mechanic and worked his way up to a desk job,handling the procurement of heavy equiptment. Last year he made his third trip to China to buy the cranes that unload container ships. He hates going over there and would be buying American but we can't compete with these people price wise. He says the manufacturers reps are the most arrogant folks he's ever met, because they have us by the cojones and know it. He bought the Chinese cranes but only after the SPA gave them the contract to install the new rail system the cranes requires.
