always heard that Blue Heelers were good hunting dogs. I had a friend when I was younger that had two of them for hunting and they were great dogs. I on the other hand, have a Cocker Spaniel. He has been the best dog I"ve ever had. Great personality,..good with kids,.never leaves the yard or chases after critters. Good watch dog and very loyal. They can be high maintenance,..especially now since he is almost 14 yr.old. But all in all he is a great dog and loyal companion,..like the others say,..they become family. It will be hard to put him down when the time comes,..but I"ll never let him suffer.Enjoy the time you have with them for it can be short.
