Sorry to seem ignorant, obviously I am, but what engine/tractor are we talking about here? You stated that it is diesel fueled. Is it wet sleeved?
I have noticed in OTR truck diesels that there is a deionizing water filter that is supposed to prevent the pin holes but that's on engines that accumulate a million miles. Don't know how long it would take a tractor to have that problem. Also don't know of it happening to non-wet sleeved engines....don't know what difference that makes.
Do know that JD sells an additive that you can put in your radiator annually.
If you have a blown head gasket or pinholes in your cylinders, one would think that bubbles would appear in the radiator reservoir.
