I bought a AC 8010 MFWD new in 1987. The cab was great, big and roomy. The 12 sp. power-shift was not great. To many caps in the wroking range speeds. I kept it 4-5 years and put about 2500 hrs. on it. I never had any issues with it. It just was not quite big enought for my use so I sold it.
All-in-all the AC 8000 series would be much easier to find parts for. They where many more units out there. The IH 88 series was an orphan after IH sold. There where many parts not available twenty years ago let alone now.
If you are just collecting then the IH 88 would be more collectible. If you are going to use it then the AC 8000 would be easier to maintain.
