Wish I could come over, but it's a long way and a bad time of year for me. We had a 340 for about 5 years, and had no problems. I did change the filter once, and some of the hy-tran did not go back in. A friend suggested running the RR tire up on a block and then you only have to drain out 4 gallons or so of fluid, some of which did not look so good. This is the only thing I can suggest, has the tractor set out in the rain at all, that is not good, water can get into the transmission.
