I replied below, but the advice to rent before purchase is really good. We did that and it helped us refine our requirements for purchase quite a bit. We really loved this version of traveling, but as others noted it is definately not for everyone. My in-laws tried it for a while and hated it. My daughters always liked the travel, could move around a little, grab a snack, play cards, watch videos, etc. As John T notes it is really nice to just roll up to a relative with your own bedroom/bathroom. My wife has a couple of dogs that were always along for the ride and the RV certainly made that easier. Another use not mentioned yet is to use it as a guest bedroom for your visitors, just park it in the drive and plug in. Allows them some privacy and all the advantages mentioned previously when you roll up as a guest. Our guests would come into the house to shower to minimize any waste storage issues. I could roll over to a local campground and dump tanks at my convenience after they left.
