I had 25F at 7am Wednesday. It was below freezing for about 8 hours. Lots of alfalfa turning yellow, but I won't know if my new seeding will survive for a few more days. It's damaged for sure, but may pull through. More sub-freezing nights expected next week though, so who knows :(
I don't think the guy cutting it had a good plan, if another freeze comes now, it will kill the crowns. But maybe he was planning on plowing it down anyway?
For trees, I noticed it was snowing "flowers" from the white oak trees when I went out to check the cows Wednesday morning. There probably won't be any acorns around here this year. It seems like Ash and Walnut are the only trees with brains, they didn't even start making leaves yet :)
