Don't hold off selling because of taxes- The present treatment of long term capital gain (15% tax on the gain) is surely the best it will ever be. Present administration is fixated on "taxing the rich"- the latest scheme is to have sort of an alternative minimum tax of 30% on capital gains of over one million. Be SURE to sell before that becomes law- it would raise your tax from $150,000 to $300,000 on a million $$ sale.
