They do an impressive job, but the grit from them goes everywhere you don't want or need it. Might as well pour a handful of sand in the engine.
When I was doing service contract claims, we'd authorize intake gaskets on a car, and a month or two later we'd get a claim call from the same shop on the same car with the bearings out of the lower end.
