To each and everybody who posted and commented, thanks for your input. Now to clarify a couple of things, the starter and generator go on a four cylinder, 6 1/2 compression ratio parade tractor that will be run in the summer only, and has to be rebuilt back to stock specs, so that is the reason for keeping it a 6 volt, positive ground tractor. To the people who said simply buy the parts on ebay and rebuild it, I guess that is also a possibility, but these aren't Delco units. Both the starter and generator are Autolite-made and I haven't seen any parts for them at the electrical houses, PLUS the generator has had the brush cover off for 20+ years. So if anybody has a good source, I'm willing to take notes. Anybody know the source for a starter drive and an armature for Autolite products? Anybody? Once again, thanks for the supplier list. One of them just might get some business.
