Amusing incident at gun auction: Local pawn shop got in trouble and got their gun license lifted. I suspect some entrapment by the ATF but don't really know. Anyway, they sold out their stock of guns by selling them on paper to an auction house, perfectly legal, then auctioning them in person and on line. I went partly for curiosity and partly to bid on a savage 17HMR. I knew the price of them new and quit bidding when the bid started approaching new price. The shop had and old Polish Radom which was designed and used in Poland before World War II, and then used by the Nazis during the war. This one was beat up and looked like it had been picked up off the battlefield during the war. I would not have fired it on a bet, and had no interest in buying it. It had been recently chromed or nickled and looked nice, from a distance. At the auction no one in person bid very much for it, but someone on line was taken by the shiney finish and paid a big price for it.
