Was it yellow and white, or Red ? My red 782 was one of the last ones built by International Harvester there is also the biggest of that era a 982 just one size before what we call the CUT tractor today or compact version.
If correct deck was on the correct tractor and you weren't trying to mow too fast never had much problem plugging unless grass was too wet. Today's mowers, decks run at a much higher rpm is the reason they seem to cut better.
