We fed brewers malt to dairy cows, and it was a source of wonderment to nutritionists at the time, because the feed value of it shouldn't have increased milk production as much as it did. Personally, I think the cows got a little plastered, and just plain felt better.
Do know that it isn't very good for hogs- makes the fat slimy, won't firm up properly when you chill it after butchering.
