Horses don't have 2 stomachs like cows do. They tend to colic and founder on the things cows eat. Range cubes, alfalfa, high protein licks, etc. can cause a horse to die a painful and miserable death. I wouldn't keep one with the cows while feeding them cow feeds, minerals, protein liquids, etc. The horses also tend to chase, bite, and kick cows. The cows will probably burn lots of calories trying to get away from the horse. Vet bills treating injuries to cow and horse might be very expensive.
