I have a 20 hp briggs with a V inteck engine. When you think you have a battery or starter problem, you may actually have a valve adjustment problem. On my 20 hp one cylinder, the intake was .005" and the exhaust was .008". The other cylinder intake was .011 and exhaust was .018. Checked online and set both intakes to .005" and the both exhaust at .008. Starts like I put a new battery and a new starter on the tractor. Battery is 4 years old too. Check valve adjustment before you spend any money.
