Watch the crankshaft pulley when you engage/disengage the clutch. Does the pulley move fore and aft? If so, your fibre thrust washer on the crankshaft has disintegrated. It is laying in the bottom of the oil pan.
We drove ours for several years with this condition. Not saying it is ok, finally gave up on the beast with very low oil pressure leading to a bearing knock.
