One thing too, people love to run to the internet and complain about stuff a lot more than they like to compliment something. There tons more horror stories out there about various things than there are success stories... really skews the results. You have to take it with a grain of salt.
If there was a perfect truck or tractor then there would only be one made. They all have something that gives them an edge over something else and vice versa.
Personally I prefer domestics for the dealer support, in my area they are supreme in that regard. I had a Mitsubishi built car, loved it and would like to get another... I was glad I could play up the "Plymouth" nameplate so I could get the dealer only parts (motor mounts) for it from Chrysler rather than drive an hour to Mitsubishi though.
