Lack of rain does not seem to hurt the fields too much here, but you can lose 2nd cut, usually its too much, hopefully you get some needed rain, when you need it!
2010 was really hot and dry here, milkweed actually wilted and no seed pods, sloped fields like my house looked like something you would need to combine, it was late summer before I could start mowing with the rotary, the dust and chaff was unreal, moldboard plow I used on my plots turned up talc like topsoil, thankfully it rained soon after. We usually don't go that long, but sometimes, and enough to cause crops like corn to wilt, they were done combining in late Sept. which is unheard of, they got an early start, spring was mild and dry that year.
