I grew up in the 70's listening to both rock (Dad's choice) and country (the old 'crying and dying' kind...Mom's choice). In high school it was more country (Alabama, Little Texas, etc) than anything else. Even though I listened to alot of country I still liked the 'hair metal' groups like Van Halen, DefLepard, Dokken, etc, etc, too.
Nowdays I've found a station that plays a mix of pretty much everything so I get to hear the "oldies" (ie 60's), 70's rock, 80's rock/hair metal, and a smattering of country. The really great thing about that format is I can listen all day and they never play the same song twice. I love the variety.
