I've got about 40 bushel of "old oats" that I brought home last spring. It has a little bit of everything in there - dirt, wood splinters from the barn it was in, walnut hulls, etc, etc. Stuff is probably 4-5 years old - maybe older. My chickens LOVE the stuff! They pick through and eat the good stuff, and leave the bad. I give it to them with a little "fresh" grains mixed in. They thrive on it, and it was WAY cheaper then buying all "new" stuff.
