Steven Kelly said: (quoted from post at 02:14:16 02/21/12) I have a johns manufacturing farmall forklift, have had it for about 10 years. Not sure if it is a bn or super a model. Its hood says super a, but my research i have only found this reversed tractor in a bn. I am wanting to know the value of this tractor for i am considering selling it. The tractor runs and drives but needs tlc. Is it very rare ? Any info on the value, model and scarcity would be much appreciated. thanks, Steve K.

I think all John's forklifts were based on BN's. I've seen at least 2 farmerized clones added to Super A's, though. Early SA, and all A, B, and BN hoods are interchangable. Decals from something can be put on just about anything.

I think these were built in Grand Junction, MI. I'm pretty sure they closed and had an auction about a decade ago. I remember seeing a flyer.

These forklifts are still incredibly popular in Southwest Michigan's fruit & veggie growing areas. They're pretty common in SWMI, and pretty rare outside of that area. If I had to guess, there were probably more than 500 and less than 1500 units made by John's.
