Last week or so I posted a video of my tractor running and a few of you mentioned to check the carb.
It was nice today here and I decided to check the gas tank for rust. To my astonishment it was empty and I pulled the carburetor off the tractor. I had put five gallons of gas in there and it's gone.
When I looked at the carburetor through the air intake I saw the main nozzle had come out of its passage and was wedged between the bowl and the air intake. I even checked the parts manual to see if I wasn't an idiot and mistaking things.
Took it to the shop that rebuilt it and told them what happened and they told me I had taken it out and I hadn't or someone went in and unscrewed the nozzle.
I'm at a loss on how to explain this and they insisted that it had been taken apart since I picked it up. Thankfully it's under warranty and these guys have a reputation for doing good work normally.
The total use hour wise of this thing? Close to four hours. Anyone have any suggestions on how this happened? Since the tractor sucked up gas is this why my brand new oil turned black? If the fuel wasn't atomizing like it should how did it run at all?
